ClaviTTY Privacy Policy

Summary
ClaviTTY is a secure SSH terminal app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. ClaviTTY is designed to keep your server access data on your devices and within Apple services you choose to use. ClaviTTY does not operate its own backend for SSH profiles, SSH keys, or session content.
Information ClaviTTY Processes
Information you create in the app
When you use ClaviTTY, the app may store:
- saved server profiles
- SSH private keys and public keys
- known-host fingerprints used for host verification
- terminal preferences and app settings
- optional, sanitized local diagnostics if you enable diagnostics
Subscription and purchase information
If you buy ClaviTTY Premium, Apple processes the purchase, billing, renewal, and account management through the App Store. ClaviTTY uses StoreKit to read subscription entitlement status so the app can unlock Premium features.
Network information
When you connect to a server, ClaviTTY communicates directly with the hosts you choose over SSH. Those remote systems may process your connection data under their own policies.
Where Data Is Stored
- SSH keys, saved hosts, passwords you choose to remember, and known-host records are stored in Apple Keychain services.
- If you enable iCloud Keychain, synchronizable Keychain items may sync through Apple’s iCloud Keychain service across your devices.
- App preferences may sync through Apple system sync services when supported by the app.
- Optional diagnostics stay local to your device unless you choose to export or share them.
ClaviTTY does not provide a separate cloud account or custom sync server for your SSH data.
What ClaviTTY Does Not Collect
ClaviTTY is designed not to collect or sell personal data for advertising. In normal operation, ClaviTTY does not intentionally collect:
- analytics or tracking data for advertising
- your SSH session transcript or terminal output for cloud storage
- your private keys for upload to ClaviTTY-controlled servers
- your saved server credentials for upload to ClaviTTY-controlled servers
Diagnostics and Logging
If you enable diagnostics, ClaviTTY keeps a local troubleshooting log intended to avoid secrets. Private keys, passphrases, and raw session content should not be written to diagnostics. You control whether diagnostics are enabled and whether exported diagnostics redact hostnames.
How Information Is Used
ClaviTTY uses information processed by the app to:
- save and sync your SSH setup across your Apple devices when you enable Apple sync features
- authenticate you to the servers you choose to access
- verify host keys and block unexpected host key changes by default
- determine whether Premium subscription features should be available
- provide optional troubleshooting exports that you explicitly request
Sharing
ClaviTTY does not sell your personal information. Information is only shared in the limited ways needed to operate the app:
- with Apple for App Store purchases, StoreKit entitlement checks, Keychain, and optional iCloud services
- with the remote SSH servers and services you choose to contact
- with people or systems you explicitly choose when exporting diagnostics or sharing content
Data Retention
Data stored by the app remains on your device or in Apple sync services until you delete it, remove the app, clear the relevant Keychain items, or disable the Apple sync features involved. Subscription billing records are managed by Apple under Apple’s own retention practices.
Your Choices
You can:
- use ClaviTTY without purchasing Premium
- delete saved hosts, keys, and known hosts from within the app
- turn optional diagnostics on or off
- choose whether exported diagnostics redact hostnames
- manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings
- disable iCloud Keychain if you do not want Keychain items to sync across devices
Security
ClaviTTY is built to minimize exposure of secrets by using Apple Keychain services, limiting diagnostics, and enforcing host key verification. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so you are responsible for protecting your devices, Apple account, and remote systems.
Children
ClaviTTY is not directed to children under 13, and it is not intended for children to use without appropriate supervision.
